PRAYING THROUGH TOPICS

In order to stay focused and on track, you can pray over a list of topics. Take some time to jot down those areas that are close to your heart. Also, consider areas in which others may need to feel God's presence and impact in their lives.

PERSONAL TOPICS
You may have or heard of someone keeping a prayer list. This is simply a place where you can write down peoples names or topics that come to mind for you to pray over. Examples of items on personal prayer lists include the list below but the topics are endless:

LOCAL NEEDS
When we pray, it is a good idea to consider how we can pray for the local places where we live, work, and play. What are the needs of the community around us? We can take them to the Lord. Here are some examples:

NATIONAL NEEDS
When we zoom out and consider the state of our nation, what comes to mind? In the United States, we can pray for:

  • Unity over division
  • Strengthening of our families 
GLOBALY
Jesus called his disciples to go throughout the entire world making disciples, so we can pray for the entire world!
  • For unbelievers to be saved
  • Unreached people groups
  • God's Word to reach closed countries
  • Peace instead of war 
DISASTERS
Disasters are one of the stark realities of living in a fallen world. They can seem so overwhelming, but even when all else is lost, we can pray! Consider natural disasters you know of that fit the categories below:
