Pray

WHAT TO PRAY

There are so many things to pray for! 1 Peter 5:7 says, "Cast your cares upon him for he cares for you!"
Pray for:
  • That the love of Christ will be felt and received from the church.
  • For Charles Dillion and his wife as they setup camp at a KOA in Greenville, TN to serve meals to over 900 people a day. See the SERVE section below for more information.
  • For volunteers and first responders to find rest when able.
  • For those traveling to have safe passage.
  • For families with young children to receive diapers, formula, and needed items.
  • God to place on your heart how you can get involved and consider joining a relief team.

Donate

With your generous donations, we filled up a U-Haul for Hurricane Helene victims! Thank you!

PURCHASE A PAINTING!

The Dogwood is the North Carolina state flower. Each spring, its beautiful blooms dot the landscape and signify new beginnings - a current metaphor for the hope and help that is urgently needed in wake of the recent disaster following Hurricane Helene.

Kat Cumberledge, a JIBC member and artist, has created a painted called "Blooms of Hope." All proceeds outside of printing and shipping costs will go directly towards those in need. Purchase the painting for only $35 and make a beautiful difference!

ENTER A CAKE RAFFLE!

Jessi Kaasa, church member and owner/operator of KAAKED by kaasa is generously donating two of her delicious cakes to help raise money for disaster relief. The minimum donation amount is $5.00 to get your name in the drawing!

Money raised will be used to purchase supplies for North Carolinians in need as well as support ministries such as Samaritan's Purse, Operation Air Drop, and Carolina Emergency Response Team who are active already in Western North Carolina.

DISTRIBUTE FOOD IN GREENVILLE, TN

JIBC sent out missionary, Charles Dillon with Carpenters House Global, is onsite in Greenville, TN to serve hungry people. He and his wife travel the country serving people in crisis. He got his start right here with us at JIBC by serving in hurricane Katrina relief effort. He has served through many storms and is a veteran at disaster relief. We will be gathering food supplies for him and prayerfully send a team to help them serve food. He anticipates serving over 900 meals a day.

JOIN SCBAPTIST DISASTER RELIEF

Unfortunately disasters are not a matter of if but when. The SC Baptist Disaster Relief team is an excellent way to train and become ready to respond. They have some immediate training opportunities coming up on October 11th and 12th in Spartanburg, SC. You can become a disaster relief team member or even train to be come a disaster relief chaplain.
JIBC has two active members of the SC Baptist Relief team: Cheryl Parrish and Rhett Iler. Please pray for them as they plan to support and serve in hurricane Helene mission work.

Consider how you can support or serve along side this incredible ministry!

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
